Sara has sent me some great finds, and I’m still catching up 🙂 Here’s another great park from her in Bridgewater, check out all our Bridgewater parks, we have a ton thanks to Sara.

Duke Island Park, on Park Drive off Old York Rd. at the southern edge of Bradley Gardens, Bridgewater Twp., Somerset County is an awesome place to bring your bikes/rollerblades/scooter/stroller and get some exercise.

They have a decent playground with two plastic and metal play structures, swings (including infant and tire), a concrete turtle, and a zip line. There are very nice bathrooms in the big ranger station across the parking lot.

But the shady trails (paved and unpaved) and the big open fields really make the park.

In the summer there are concerts and even drive in movies on a temporary screen. Lots of picnic tables and two pavilions, but not particularly near the playground. And the beautiful Raritan River is right there (but not so near the playground that your kids will notice). For more info on this park, check out the county website here

Drive a bit east on Old York and you will find some really cool bridges to walk across, a statue of John Basilone, Raritan Boro’s hero, and lots of local eateries.
