Description: Small, fully-fenced in playground for 5 and under.  Shady and clean.

An adorable secret playground your little ones will love.  This small park is tucked behind Paramus High School and is used daily by the Early Childhood Program.  It has a playground with slides and a bridge that your 5-and- under children can do independently. There is also one larger slide they will love.  A big hit with the kids is the two climbable dinosaurs as well as the balance beam shaped like an alligator.  On one side you will find see-saws that are just the right size for your little tike.  But the biggest hit is the sandbox!  It comes already stocked with dump trucks and lots of toys that are usually out year round.  There is also a metal jeep that the kids love to make-believe they are driving.  Moms will love that it is not near any major roads and is fully fenced in, with shady trees and two picnic tables.  Although it is used by the school during the day, our kids love to go there all summer long when the school is closed or after 3pm during the school year.  Parking is available on Gary Street circle behind the high school (please check signs). There are no public restrooms so bring your portable travel potties or head to Panera which is nearby at Paramus Place shopping mall (Kohl’s Center) at 165 W State Rt 4, Paramus, NJ.

So come check it out! It’s a great park you can let your children run free while you can sit and relax, knowing they can’t escape and everything is tailored for the little ones!

Tell us about the playground equipment:

What kind of amenities can you find at this location?

Parking:  Parking in Gary Street Circle behind the school (check signs)

Benches: A few benches and two picnic tables

Picnicking: Bring your blankets if you want to picnic on the grass, but there are two tables as well.

Other Cool Stuff:  We have found the sandbox toys to be there year round!  Saves me the hassle of packing all our sand toys, but maybe bring a few just in case the policy has changed this summer.

Make a Day of It:  If your kids still have energy after playing all day, check out the Paramus Place shopping mall nearby, located on Route 4 West..  Stores include Daffy’s, A.C. Moore, Modell’s, Famous Footwear, Party City, Kohls, Annie Sez, David’s Bridal, Joyce Leslie and Harmon Face Values.  The big hit with the kids around lunch time will definitely be Panera Bread, which is a great place to grab something to eat or a cup of coffee for mom.

What time does the Early Childhood Program end? Thinking of setting up a play date here, but not sure if I want to do it if a pre-school program is using the park most of the time.

    Hi Victoria,
The ECC is not open during the summer. I’ve done playgroups there in July and August and we’ve had the place all to ourselves! During the school year the playground is available after 2:45pm and during holiday and spring/winter breaks. Enjoy!

    Please note:

The sandbox has been removed =(

But they are adding either a new sandbox OR new gym equipment.

I will update you as the changes are made.
