Camp Iliff Rockaway Mall, Rockaway, NJ

PERMANENTLY CLOSED!!! THIS POST IS HERE FOR HISTORICAL PURPOSES!!!
Camp Iliff in Newton is still around but only for CHILD CARE!!!

During a recent trip to the Rockaway Mall, Eddie and I decided to check out the new Camp Iliff indoor playground and play place which is right next to JC Penney and the Kidgits area on the 1st floor of the mall.

There are lots of options in terms of pricing and  family deals http://campiliff.com/rockaway/open-play/family-deals/. Bring cash! Right now they are not set up to take credit cards but a quick trip to the center of the mall yielded an ATM.

Since we were there between 10am and 2pm we were able to take advantage of their lunch special. For just $10 Eddie had a HUGE hot dog, tater tots and fruit punch and he could play on the indoor playground for as long as he wanted.  Normally it’s just $8 per child to play on the playground.

Of course, I got some exercise climbing around inside too. The playground extends around the entire inside of the facility, most of it up high near the ceiling. There are obstacles throughout, ropes, balls, mirrors, things to hang on and fun slides to exit.

In the middle of the playground is a really nice seating area for the adults. There are picnic tables for those having something to eat – and the food was good! Hot dogs, chicken nuggets, pizza and I had a really nice chicken wrap.  There’s free WiFi and  if you aren’t eating, another seating area with tons of places to plug in your phone or laptop. I thought that was especially great because my phone seems to run out of juice in no time!

The flooring is AstroTurf and the entire facility is camp themed and really cute. There is also a small redemption arcade with tickets awarded when you play and a prize booth but we didn’t even get to that because we were so caught up in the play area.

Camp Iliff’s original location is in Newton up in Sussex County and we can’t wait to review that next!

Have you checked out all our other indoor play areas? We have included a map of all NJ indoor playgrounds, NJ children museums, including chuck e. cheeses in NJ and all your recommendations in one page. Check it out, and comment if we are missing something.
