Fall is a beautiful time of year to check out farms for apple picking and Halloween activities. We decided to take the advice of one of our facebook fans, and check out Ort Farms in Long Valley.

We had a really nice time. Coming from the south, we had to pass the gigantic Alstede Farms, which is an amazing HUGE and very busy attraction, but with my trio of kids, I wanted something a little less crowded for this weekend. The kids enjoyed themselves thoroughly, the prices were very reasonable too:

I also picked up a fantastic apple crisp, so yummy! I was surprised my boys didn’t want to do the monster trucks, but they kept busy with feeding the cow, goats and rabbits.

After Ort Farms, we decided to stop into Chubb Park in Chester, it is very expansive and has a little playground, great place to enjoy a walking trail to by the lake. (Chubb Park also was a favorite park mentioned by one of my favorite comedians, Jim Breuer, aka Goat Boy and resident of Chester)

For a glimpse at our time at both Ort Farms and nearby Chubb Park (in Chester 3 miles down the road), check out our video. I’ve really enjoyed playing around with video, sorry for the shaky hand at times 🙂
