Malapardis Rd, Cedar Knolls

287 N to the Route 10 E towards Whippany. Make the first right onto Jefferson Rd. At the first light, make a right. Take this road to the end and make a right at Notre Dame Church (Ridgedale
Ave). At the first light make a left onto Malapardis. The park is about a ¼ of a mile on the left.

Nicely shaded “Little Tikes” playground with really unique playthings and cool climbing structures. Part of a lovely clean park with a pond, walking paths and ball field. Very restful and a great spot for a picnic. Upper park with tennis courts.

Parking: Medium
Picnicking: Great little gazebo with tables, additional tables scattered throughout park
Climbing: Monkey bars, rings, advanced and toddler climbs, rock and rope walls, mushroom caps
Playthings: Big purple hippo with insides labeled (e.g. stomach, tongue, kidney, etc.) Under equipment is full of fun stuff, puzzles, a bat cave with hieroglyphics, mazes, music center, store front, kid-sized benches, and music center with bongos, keyboard and more!
Slides: Five chute, two half-pipe, one corkscrew, one toddler
Sports: Busy baseball field, horseshoes, three tennis courts
Swings: Two full size, two toddler
Walking Paths: Around the ball field, pond and up to the “upper park”, great for bike riding and strollers, a little too un-even for beginning and maybe even adult roller skating
Water: Very pretty pond with center fountain and steps approaching perimeter, good for launching remote controlled boats!

Make a Day of It
Check out the local Kiwanis Club for information on their annual rubber duck race in June. We went this year and even though our duck didn’t win, it was a ton of fun with face painting, horse and buggy rides, food and more. Lots of dining and coffee on nearby Route 10, Ridgedale Ave or downtown Morris Plains.
