Franklin Lakes Municipal Park recently got a makeover!

Franklin Lakes Playground • Franklin Lakes, NJ • Located right behind the FL Library, this playground got a huge update recently and it’s truly amazing!

It’s split into 2 sections, one for 2-5 yr olds and one for 5-12 yr olds.

At first glance, the bigger structure looks intimidating because of its height

but upon closer inspection I felt that it was fairly safe to climb because of the enclosed siding around the entire side where kids can climb to the top via webbing/ropes.

Once at the top there are two STEEP but fully enclosed tube slides they can come down or just climb back down the ropes again.

There were several unique climbing areas I haven’t seen at other playgrounds before & was so impressed by, plus monkey bars, a playground staple (and my kids’ personal favorite)!

The 2-5 playground had smaller climbing features for the little guys as well as a large rocking boat (that takes a little pushing from a grown up to get it moving). There’s only one remaining structure from before the renovations, the tree house (which I’m so glad they kept because it was also a favorite!) that they can just climb up and play/hideout in! There’s also 4 regular swings, 2 toddler swings, and 2 accessible swings off to the side.

The entire playground is fenced in & well-shaded and some covered areas are built into the structures themselves.

There’s a large grassy field beside the playground with a flat cement path all around it which is great for biking, scootering, walking, and there’s a few old school exercise machines intermittently placed around the path which the kids always seem to enjoy too!
